£25,391 to £27,450 per annum, pro rata
Alzheimer’s Society
Full time
26th June 2026
Alzheimer’s Society is recruiting for a Dementia Adviser to join its local team in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident supporting people through difficult and changing circumstances. The role will involve working directly with people living with dementia, as well as their families and carers, to provide advice, reassurance and practical support.
About the role
The Dementia Adviser will provide ongoing support to people affected by dementia across the East Riding. This could include home visits, telephone support, helping people understand what matters most to them, and working with other professionals to make sure the right help is in place.
The role also includes managing a caseload, keeping accurate records, supporting new referrals through a triage system, signposting people to local services, and helping to deliver peer support groups across the area.
Alzheimer’s Society describes the role as part of a caring and supportive local team, with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills around dementia support.
Who might this suit?
This role could suit someone with experience in health, social care, community work, the voluntary sector, customer service, advice work or another people-focused role.
Applicants should be good listeners, able to build trust with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and confident using IT systems to keep records. An understanding of dementia would be helpful, but Alzheimer’s Society also welcomes people who are willing to learn and who can bring transferable skills or lived experience.
The post requires the ability to travel independently across the East Riding and, on occasion, more widely.
