Are you part of a VCSE organisation commissioned by Public Health East Riding, or working in partnership to support the health and wellbeing of local communities?

We’re pleased to share details of the upcoming Healthy Chats (Wellbeing and You) – Train the Trainer session, designed specifically to build capacity across the VCSE and partner network.

What is Healthy Chats?

Healthy Chats is East Riding’s local approach to Making Every Contact Count (MECC). It equips staff and volunteers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to:

  • Have meaningful wellbeing conversations
  • Raise awareness of healthy lifestyle choices
  • Signpost individuals to relevant local support services
  • Embed prevention and early intervention into everyday practice

Every interaction is an opportunity to support positive change — and Healthy Chats provides the framework to do this effectively and confidently.

About the Train the Trainer Course

Delivered by the Learning, Skills and Workforce Development Team, this session enables eligible participants to:

  • Deliver Healthy Chats (Wellbeing and You) training within their own organisation
  • Cascade learning across teams and volunteers
  • Strengthen a consistent, whole-system approach to MECC across East Riding

This course is intended for those commissioned by Public Health East Riding and partner organisations who are in a position to deliver training internally.

Why it matters for the VCSE sector

The VCSE sector plays a vital role in supporting individuals and communities across East Riding. By embedding Healthy Chats into everyday conversations, organisations can:

  • Enhance the impact of existing services
  • Support early intervention and prevention
  • Strengthen partnership working
  • Contribute to improved population health outcomes

If your organisation would benefit from having an in-house Healthy Chats trainer, this is a valuable opportunity to build skills and confidence within your team.
