Organisations which are eligible to apply for funding may have been actively involved with the locality Youth Network over the past 12 months, others are encouraged to be involved where possible.
This year the Healthy Holidays summer campaign is part of the national Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF).
This programme is funded by the Department for Education (DfE). It aims to support children and young people who are entitled to free school meals to have supportive accessible holidays with food, activity and informal learning experiences.
This funding has been supplemented by the Children Young People and Families Board (better together partnership) to commission a programme of summer activities, Healthy Holidays 2021 will be co-ordinated by the HAF team and work closely with the Early Help Hubs and the locality youth networks.
In total, there is a maximum of £210,000 available to deliver additional activities, high quality food and learning offer throughout the city, during the summer holidays. A funding allocation has been divided across the three localities by the seven political areas in line with the level of free school meal places in those areas. See appendix 4 for the city breakdown.
There should be a focussed invitation to ensure children and young people entitled to free school meals participate as much as possible over the summer period.
Activities will take place between - Monday 26 July 2021 and Friday 3rd September 2021 inclusive.
