The Ideas Fund - Are You Eligable?

Published at 1:48 pm Thu Jan 28th, 2021

The Ideas Fund is a grants programme run by the British Science Association and funded by Wellcome, which enables the UK public to develop and try out ideas that address problems related to mental wellbeing.

The Ideas Fund are offering early stage grants of up to £25,000 and larger grants of around £90,000 in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Hull, North West Northern Ireland, and Oldham.

The scheme has been designed to test a new way of funding that connects communities with researchers to access knowledge, research skills and resources. We brought together community members, researchers and public engagement professionals and designed a fund together that is:

  • Place-based
  • Focused on mental wellbeing
  • Committed to funding ideas with potential

The Ideas Fund is for you if:

  • You have an idea (even one at a very early stage) related to mental wellbeing that you want to explore and develop...
  • Your idea focuses on a problem that your community wants to solve...
  • Your community is based in one of four specific regions in the UK - Oldham, Hull, North West Northern Ireland, and the Highlands and Islands of Scotland...
  • You are keen to collaborate with research professionals to bring your idea to life

Take the quick eligibility quiz to see if The Ideas Fund might be a good fit for you and your idea. (Please note it works best on a desktop computer!)
