East Riding CCG are working with their partners to prepare for Phase 1 of the Covid-19 vaccination programme, which is expected to launch in early December. All partner organisations are coming together to deliver this programme which is of great significance for our staff and our communities.
In the meantime, they ask people to keep following the very simple actions in the national Guidance that keep you personally safe from infection - washing hands, wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and reducing social contact. This is still our best defence.
These efforts help to drive infection rates in our communities down. No one wants to be responsible for others falling ill or needing hospital treatment.
The vaccine will protect you to be able to care for others. Once vaccinated it remains important that people continue to follow the relevant guidance for minimising the spread of infection.
Decisions around prioritisation for vaccination will be made by the Government based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI). JCVI has published in draft its advice on which groups should be prioritised and this can be found on the gov.uk website
