Vacancy - HWRA Community Development Worker

Humber and Wolds Rural Action (HWRA) is looking for a Community Development Worker to further development their activities, services and projects.

HWRA works closely with communities across East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire, facilitating local people, groups and communities to identify need and create innovative and bespoke solutions which are community led. To do this we have developed good relationships with voluntary and community organisations, village halls, parish and town councils, local authorities, commissioners and providers of services including public and private suppliers.

They're seeking a Community Development Worker to further development their activities, services and projects which support community infrastructure:

• Energy (use, costs, audits, suppliers, switching, fuel options, oil cooperatives etc.)

• Digital (access, cost and range including broadband, wifi, satellite, 4G/5G, digital data etc.)

• Housing (community led housing, affordable housing, specific issues in relation to rural housing etc.)

• Community Development work, including Community Led Planning and Neighbourhood Planning, development of and work with parish cluster group.

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience in at least one of the areas identified above and an interest in developing their knowledge, skills and experience within the other areas.

Salary Range: NJC Scp 20 (£25,991 pro rata) to NJC Scp 24 (£28,672 pro rata) dependent upon experience and qualifications

Contract: 30 hours per week (with potential to increase dependent upon funding application success)

Office Base: Maltby Lane Hub, Maltby Lane, Barton upon Humber. This is a hybrid working post which means that you will be both home and office based. There are also opportunities for ‘Hot desking’: Scunthorpe, Beverley, Hull and Grimsby

Qualifications, where they are available within the subject area, are desirable but not essential and training will be provided to enable the successful applicant to obtain the required level where necessary.
