Proud To Be Me Conference 2021

Informed by the voices of LGBTQ+ young people this event is aimed at anyone supporting young people who may want to consider their practise with LGBTQ+ young people.

The conference will take place on Wednesday 3rd November 2021, from 9am- 4.30pm, refreshments and a buffet lunch are included. Venue is MKM Stadium, Walton Street, Hull, HU3 6H. Cost £24-30.

Everyone's  invited from education, social care, youth workers and voluntary sector, to help empower LGBTQ+ young people to be the best they can be.

Key note speakers are:

Claire Birkenshaw - Lecturer in Childhood Studies & Education, Leeds Beckett University - "Understanding CYP Ontological Insecurities"

HeadStart Hull Young People - will present the findings of their research with LGBTQ+ young people which aimed to gain an understanding of positive and negative experiences that attribute to their emotional health and wellbeing needs.

Emma Wilkinson - Head of Counselling at the Warren Youth Project

Workshops will be hosted by local organisations directly supporting LGBTQ+ young people in our area, including Cornerhouse, The Warren Youth Project, TPSG Dragons and ERVAS.
