Hull company Arco have very kindly donated £50,000 worth of surplus PPE to Smile to co-ordinate and distribute to VCSE groups in the region.
As we go into winter, respiratory conditions are going to be a major challenge for the NHS and face coverings are still recommended. This free PPE equipment could be a really welcome donation for any group supporting vulnerable groups within the community and keeping their staff and volunteers protected.
Moving and storing 16 pallets of equipment that included 40,000 P2 masks and 625,000 aprons could have posed a huge problem, however, another local business and a charity based in Hornsea stepped in to offer their help.
A big thank you to Malcolm West Forklifts for kindly donating a pallet truck and to Humber Men in Sheds Alliance for offering to store the PPE equipment free of charge at their site in Hornsea.
Smile will begin this distribution programme from Monday 11 October. Groups will need to collect items themselves, Monday to Friday between 10am and noon.
To book your slot please email Michelle Barnes at Smile at email@example.com.
Please note this equipment is offered on a first come first served basis.
You can find the equipment specifications for the face masks and aprons attached below.
